Optus 3G
is there a problem with the towers or something? I cannot get a 3G signal with my phone. It's impossible. No internet connection at all.
It was working fine on the weekend, but since Sunday night I can't get a signal anywhere. Is something up?

Me and the mrs have a signal so if there's an issue it's most likely a local tower or your phone.

I'm hoping it's a local tower. This is pissing me off. No signal at all for over two days now.

There is a lot of tower upgrading going on at the moment. If it's more than 3 days I would speak to customer service. Let's just hope they're updating the capacity in your area

On the blower to tech support right now.
Also, today is the third day without a 3G connection.

Well they reckon the SIM card is most likely on the way out. Did some isolation tests and it seems so.
Just went down to an Optus World shop and got a new SIM. We will see if it works in an hours time...

So you've tried your sim in other phones, have you tried other sims in your phone?

Tried my sim in my old phone and it worked fine. Tried my brothers sim in my phone and it didn't work. Looks like it's my phone.
Contemplating whether to return it for a new one or perform a factory restore.

Re: Optus 3G
When I check my phone status, the 3G icon/symbol has a big X over it. Phone problem or is Optus hindering me?

Re: Optus 3G
Sounds like a phone problem
Mine was a sim problem, when I did the factory restore it stopped detecting the sim and I couldn't use the phone until I got a new one
