PS3 back-up

Post  mrcrowley24 on Tue Sep 07, 2010 6:59 am

When I come back to Australia I am going to sell my UK PS3 as I cant play Aussie dvds etc on it. I dont really have much movies, photos etc on it,but I wanted to transfer my messages and save game data to my Aussie PS3. If I do the back-up PS3 option and save the data to a portable HD and then go home and hit the restore option, will it just add the data to my Aussie PS3 or will it want to completely get rid of the data and on my Aussie PS3 and replace it with the UK data?

Get me? Anyone done the restore option before?

Replace it. You can't amalgamate ps3 info which sucks balls. Determine which one is more important first then do it. Don't delete any data though just do the restore and see if it proves me wrong.
The restore option is meant to return the ps3 to the exact settings saved on your backup.
To be safe back up both and if you are unhappy just restore the Aussie ps3 back to the back up you did of it Smile

It will overwrite your current data.

I've fucked around with PS3 backups and restores A LOT.
