Re: Xbox
I dont have one and I am glad. A lot of the exclusive's that 360 had have only been timed. The only game worth getting a 360 for is gears IMO. Halo isnt for me and bungie will develop non-halo games for PS3 after reach. PS3 has the better exclusives, technology and support. I bet Microsoft are itching to get a new console out while sony are happy to wait a few more years. Seriously, Uncharted 2, God of War 3 and Killzone 3 look way better than ANY 360 game and PS3 is only 3 years old!
Are you thinking of getting one cap?

Re: Xbox
I had one when it first came out. I got one of the duds that 50% of other people got too. Died 2 weeks out of warranty. I was so lucky i traded it in for the ps3. The guy at game turned it on and the green light came on. I couldnt beleive it. He didnt put the av cables in though. I gave em 10 games, the x box and got a ps3. sweet.
It was good until ps3 came along.

Re: Xbox
I have no idea what reach is.
I got my xbox over 6 months ago but my brother in law took it straight away. Just got it back last night.
Gotta say, for media playback this thing is pretty darn good. Better than the ps3 IMO.
Obviously can't play blurays but it can play all video types from what I can see. When it struggled it just downloaded a new codec.
Games are so so, and I prefer the ps3 controller.
They aren't half bad though.
LOUD, the console is really noisy.

Halo:Reach, its the last halo game to be made by bungie. Got massive advertisements.
Do you know if the xbox can play mkv files?

mkv's
Yeah reach online has got some pretty good reviews
RE: MKV's I thought it was the same as the PS3, you need to convert it with something like mkvtovob, takes less than a minute for a normal hour show (1-1.5 gbs), it's pretty much all I get these days, especially M-HD MKVs, they are sweet..
the ps3 should just play them :/
It's one of my bug bears with the PS3, but I have recently started using the media server option and stream it. I get sick of having to split big MKV's due to fat limitations, it only takes a couple of minutes for real big files (mkvtovob or multiavchd does this while converting/muxing without transcode. I'll start another thread on this, I have found that mutliavchd is a excellent program)
of course, it's limited to the wireless in the ps3. Ethernet would be better, and it's not as good as an attached portable HDD I usually use, you can't really scan the video, and fast forward is a bit dodgy. Was using the free version of TVersity, but WIN7 for me is so much better, and has better streaming and file compatibility.

Xbox games are region locked, but due to both Countries using PAL it should be fine.
