Do yourself a favour

Post  Isis_au on Thu Sep 16, 2010 10:39 pm

Immerse yourself in some quality literature. I've just finished reading Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest. Fantastic reading!!!!

The narrative is intelligent, incredibly detailed and entertaining - it has everything you could possibly want for a great read - mystery, crime, murder, political conspiracies, sex, and very intriguing and well developed characters.

I haven't read them, but I have watched the first two movies. Highly recommend! First is better than the second (and apparently the books are way better), but yes its very gritty, graphic etc. Looking forward to the 3rd one!

Yeah thats probably because their foreign Swedish films. You can find them dubbed or subbed, watch them tho as they are really good. Hollywood plans on to their own versions next year with Daniel Craig as the main guy.

Great trilogy, I have read the books and seen all three movies. This is a good example of great writing (at least the first book) and great cinema. All three movies were shot in a very short timeframe, not like Hollywood "10 Year" sequel style. Very efficient.

Swedes have actually done a good job on keeping Lisbeth true to the nature in the book.

I think these are still active. Caution, the subs from euro release BD's can be a bit, lets say funny. I found some other subs on one of the popular subs sites that was "fixed"
