My new hobby which will likely interest 0.03% of the population.
I have recently discovered the new range of Nerf guns.
Has anyone seen these bad boys? There are LMGs, SMGs, Assault rifles, Shotguns, Rocket launchers, Grenades, Revolvers Sniper rifles and more.
When I was a kid there were only really pistols that you had to push the dart down the barrel, pump it for about 10 seconds then shoot it about 5 feet.
There is a new series that Hasbro has released called the 'N Strike' series. The idea behind this series is that each weapon will be able to use attachments from the other weapons in the series.
Most weapons in the series are cartridge fed and as such all the different cartridges can be used in the different guns in the series. I have a LMG and a Rifle that can use each others cartridges (i'll post some pics).
I got a red laser pointer with the rifle that I can attach to the LMG, a grip/bi-pod with the LMG that I can attach to the rifle and so on.
The thing that interests me most about the newer Nerf guns is the modification capabilities.
It is a really popular thing to mod Nerf guns and I had never heard of it before.
People change the springs and remove air restrictors from the guns to make them shoot further. For instance, people have managed to get their normal blasters that shoot 20ft stock to shoot 100ft+ after changing a few things.
People also add things like under barrel shotguns and launchers.
These 2 sites have heaps of useful info for anyone who is keen on Nerf guns or modding at all:

Now for some pics of my current collection. I'll try add some pics with alternate attachments on the guns. (I will have to do the pics in a separate post because of how slow my net is...)

I have a younger cousin who has loads of different nerf guns. When I go to his place I enjoy playing with them and customizing them. I wish I had some nerf guns of my own.

Side by side spring loaded shotgun

N Strike Six round revolver

N Strike Recon Rifle

Added stock

Added reflex sight and barrel

Added magazine and red laser pointer

N Strike Stampede fully automatic LMG

Added grip and reflex sight (from recon)

Added Bi-pod a d shield

Added grip and extended magazine

Example of bits and pieces from a couple of guns

I'd like to get about 3-4 more different guns until I have all the parts I am after (different stocks, sights, magazines etc).
Once I have those parts I will start trying to modify the internal components.
Should be fun.

They shoot little foam darts mj. I'll post a pic of the ammo tonight.
You can kinda see it in this picture, look at the top of the clip.

Those are the exact some guns and attachments I have used, but do you have the belt fed LMG?

It comes with literally zero attachments for other guns, so not worth the purchase.Creeper101 wrote:Those are the exact some guns and attachments I have used, but do you have the belt fed LMG?
The one I bought comes with a shield, grip/bipod, a normal magazine and three extended magazines. The choice was simple between the 2.

They look extremely childish. How much do they go for?

They cost between $15 - $80 from what I can see. The average price range is $30-45 per gun.
I don't think they are that expensive considering other toys prices (ie Lego that costs $100+ for a kit)
