Tarantino/Rodriguez

A thread to these guys.

Firstly, I watched Machete the other day and enjoyed it. Anyone seen it? Its just a mindless and gory film, but it never takes itself seriously and is fucking funny. Also has a decent cast as well.

More importantly, what do you guys think of these directors and what they have brought us over the past 20 years.

Reservoir Dogs and Pulp fiction are classc's! I also enjoyed the Kill Bill's. Tarantino also partly wrote Natural Born Killers and True Romance.

I like Rodriguez movies less than Tatantino's, but "from dusk till dawn" and desperado, are cult classic's themselves.

Similary, they teamed up for Sin City which was a sucess.

They aren't imunne to average movies though, death proof being one.

I guess I just like them as they don't go for the standard hollywood directions and the movies they have made often have references to other movies and have cool music as well.

I agree with everything you said.
I don't think I can add anything else to that.

They are great and they should keep doing what they are doing. Don't forget about Inglorious Basterds!

Say What!?
That explains my love affair with that movie, not to mention the acting and awesome soundtrack by Trent Reznor.

I have the boxset of El Mariachi/Desperado/Once Upon a time

Also Rodriguez is supposedly directing 'Deadpool" which is a movie adaption of the comic that I follow.
It's been promised that the movie will break the 4th wall and be a hard R18+

Let's just look the other way in regards to Spy Kids.

Tarantino wrote the original screenplay and Oliver Stone revised it. No wonder its such a crazy movie with those 2 tinkering with the script.

Deadpool R18+? Really? Are we talking about the same guy from Wolverine? I can't imagine the movie studios letting him do that, but I am all for it!

I guess Rodriguez has kids and their making him do spy kids!lol

What is El Mariachi and Once upon a time like? Still have't seen them yet?

The studio's realised how much they screwed the pooch on the wolverine movie, looks like they're trying to make up for it.
Both Rodriguez and Ryan Reynolds were pushing for an R.
The guys that wrote Zombieland and writing the script too.

The first one's much like Desperado (Desperado is kind of like a remake actually) except it's dirtier, more handheld cameras and the like.
One upon a time might surpass both especially with Depps character
