Ebay scammer scum!

I had a close call recently!

I was selling my UK PS3 on ebay and someone bought it using the buy it now function. They deposited the money into my paypal account and asked if they could pick it up today. I said that it would take me a while to format it and get it ready for them (it wouldn't, I just wanted to hold onto my PS3 as long as I could before I leave). Anyways, after going back and forth over a pick-up date, I said they could pick it up in 2 days time and they agreed.

Then everything went quiet on their behalf and I got an email from paypal saying the buyer wanted his money back. I was like, WTF! After a day of emailing this buyer and asking why, I get an email later in the day from the real buyer saying that their ebay account had been hacked and it wasn't her! The hacker was going to come over straight away, before the real person could alert paypal and take my PS3!

Fuck me! If I had said to that person come over on the day of buying, I would have lost my PS3! Anyways, I got lucky and found out!

So I am now going to bring my PS3 home and use it as a second one. I know that I can't play Aussie DVDs and blu-rays, I may use it for a warhawk server.

I wish I could get my hands on the fucker and belt the fuck out of him.

Its impossible to be scammed when buying if you use PayPal.

Would you have really lost out though? If they grabbed the PS3? I thought some type of insurance should cover that? As it wasnt your fault some1 else account was hacked?

And you should use the 2nd ps3 as a JAILBREAK Console...
If you havent updated already, 3.50 free downgrader was released ...

How often do u seriously put a dvd into it anyway? If the usb was area locked i'd tell u 2 fuck it off but whats a dvd these days?

Blurays are region coded too though.

UK is region A and we are region B I think?


I have over 50 blurays, so that'd be a problem for me.
Use it as your gaming console or a server ryno.

I own many games and bluray movies from all over the world. All of them play on my PS3.
People say blurays are region coded, but I don't believe it.

Perhaps, I don't know. I hope there is some sort of insurance for these types of things. It would just be a hassle and I leave the UK in a few days. Would have to get the cops involved too as I would have seen his face.

Nah Jailbreaking isn't for me. I swear my original 60GB is due for a YLOD, so it will be handy to have a 2nd one around.

No I don't really use my PS3 for DVD's Azz, but it's just good to know that I can. Plus, if I ever start getting Blu-rays, it would be my only thing that I could play them on.

I've got some guy coming around tomorrow to pick up my LCD, but he is bringing cash so that should be all good.

They won't be from outside our region. The regions are huge, and it seems Europe is region B too.

If you did purchase them from say America, then they were either selling region b discs, or they are region free discs.

Guarantee you that a region A bluray wouldn't work in an Aussie ps3.
