What can you achieve by jail breaking the ps3? any extra features?

I also hav a ylod home fixed ps3 that will eventually die anyway, so I may as well play around with it

Why Jailbreak you PS3?
Emulators, Homebrew apps, hacks, custom firmware, most probly region free players etc...
The main 1 alot of people will want it, is because you can copy games to your HDD and play it... Cant play online ATM, which I like, because then you cant get cheaters playing online with hacks etc...

I know its not going to be good for the ps3 scene when it comes to game developers, but HEY..., You either Join em or hate em...
Hating em wont really solve anything though..

Sweet Azza ill check it out when I play around with it, but are you still on firmware 3.50? because you cant downgrade just yet if you upgraded to 3.55...

Oh yeah Azza, sorry man the guy put the price back up after i bought mine... They $30 now, so add like 15-20 postage and it will add the same...

But as for the chip, its working smoothly, the downgrade went well, and well the Homebrews are working good Smile

...
They now have a PS store to download demos/themes/utilities etc for people that cant get on PSN..
