Well, Essendon superstar and AFL hero Matthew Lloyd announced his retirement today. Today should be a public holiday.
AFL will not be the same without him. He's a true champion.

- Seventh highest goal return in AFL history and the most by an Essendon player

- 15 year career

- All Australian 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003

- Premiership 2000

- Coleman Medal 2000, 2001, 2003

- Average 3.4 goals per game for 15 years

- Kicked over 100 goals in a season for two seasons

It's weird while I growing up, a 15 year career was very common, but these days with the extra strains on the body from the faster games etc, seems like the 15-years career is enough to call a cunt a champion.
