I've got a 320GB ps3. Just upgrade your current hdd with a laptop hdd. It's very easy.

I did the same. Piece of piss and doesn't even void warranty. Then just buy a 20 dollar external case and u got a pocket 40 60 or 120 gig HD

A SATA Notebook (2.5inch) hard drive.

Here is a how-to - it's almost over-detailed but tells you exactly what you need to know. Replacing HDD is Sony-happy i.e. this will NOT void your warranty - there are actually basic instruction on this in the manual that comes with your PS3.

NB: HDD can be either 5400rpm or 7200rpm - most of these guides say stick with 5400rpm but 7200 should work okay. Just a heat thing mainly i.e. it spins faster therefore generates slightly more heat. I have mates who used 7200 with no probs.

Go for it - you know you want to!!!

Just don't push the little red button affraid

(Note: this is a joke/line from Fifth Element - there is no little red button)

Go with 5400rpm. 7200 is much more expensive and is not necessary in a ps3.

7200rpm HDD will load games faster once they are installed. It won't make a big difference, only a few seconds, but it will load it slightly faster.

I have owned one for over a year and it works well.

I just installed a 500GB HDD in my friends PS3. FRIGGIN HUGE
