When im in a pub Ill drink Tooheys New or Super Dry.

no beer did not hurt you. It made you happy and it masked physical pain. That's what you said. Clearly drinking beer is not the problem. Your problem is that you stop drinking.

I have not yet developed a taste for beer, or even alcohol products for that matter.
