Well, I've only lived here for 18 months, and I have some standards (i.e. bogans frighten me - sorry Bec), so I've only been to the Mango Hill Tavern which has only opened fairly recently. The Murrumba Downs Tavern is brand new as well and looks like it was built from the same mold, so I'd say they are similar standards. The food was quite good, but it was a bistro so there were lots kids, prams, families and noise

Pubs just aren't what they used to be in the good old days i.e. somewhere you can sit at the bar etc. You can sit at a table in lounge chairs though

Kallangur Tavern has a bit of a rep as a place to go for a blue. Finnigans is one of those "Irish" decor places attached to a car park (shared with Dominoes and Blockbuster).

Oh, and you forgot North Leagues Club

I tend to drink at home except when I go with mates to the Burp. Tavern for Sunday boobies!!!

Sydney Watering holes are few and far between.
Most places are going pretty trendy.

I prefer the Mean Fiddler at Rouse Hill or James Squire Brewhouse in Darling Harbour.

Went to finigans great food, pretty quiet on a week night and there were a few bogans about but not as bad as dbay tavern lol.

I agree about the bars being differnt these days. Darwin is different. The pub on the tiwi islands is all caged in and I was the only white bloke in a pub full of aboriginies lol.
I'm sure Bali has tried the Karama Tavern. Lol. Pretty rough

Well, I'll take your word on Finnigan's and give it a go then.
As a precaution, I will wear a blue truckie singlet and/or flanno.

Note to self: get some "tough" stickers.
