How does this kudos thing work? What's the point of it?

It used to have a greater purpose, but now only reflects the fact that a person has made an effort to help out, thus warranting a kudos for their efforts.

Users will often kudos others for other things, like when they agree or find a post amusing.

To be able to kudos you need to have posted 100 times and received I think it is 10 kudos yourself.

There is also an ability to negative kudos, when a user is being unhelpful or insulting.
The kudos system here is not super serious because we are a very small forum.

I must admit though, I sort of have an advantage at the moment. I'm bed-ridden a lot lately because of a relapse of some back surgery I had a few years ago. I've been in excruciating pain for the last 2 months, so the only thing I can do most of the time is lay here & surf the net.
It takes me a while to reply because I have to use the on screen keyboard but I could post all day if I wanted to.
