I got my slim a couple of days back and am now back in business. Trouble is, I went over my internet data cap the night I got it by redownloading all the games I had, and now I can't play anything meaningful online!

The slim is actually quite fetching I reckon. I had never seen one in the flesh until I opened the box the other day, and I actually quite like it. It's alot quieter too which is good. Also I got a Dualshock with it, which is my first one. I always had old SIXAXIS controllers as I had had my PS3 since launch. How exciting, it wobbles!

I'm considering selling my old one online for parts, I saw one go for about $150 the other day. The only issue is that it has my credit card details on it, so if someone was to repair it they would be able to rip me off. Can the HDD be formatted without being inserted into a PS3?

Since your going to sell it for parts, you could just keep the hdd and sell the rest? (Or is that stuff not installed on the hdd?)

Buy an enclosure and plug it into a PC. First thing it will say is to format it. Do it.
