True Blood Thread

Post  mrcrowley24 on Thu Jun 03, 2010 4:27 pm

So who here likes or watches this?

Im expecting more ppl to hate this show than like it. I dont mind it, I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me.

I like the first season more than the second. The third starts in 2 weeks.

Seen previews, doesn't look like the kind of show I'd be interested in though.

I guess the hate has a lot to do with all these shows popping up to capitalize on the success of sparkly vampires.

true true, but this show is based on books that have been out for a while.

Its also way more violent than twilight or any vampire TV show.

It would be 100x better if it wasn't set in the southern states of America

must say I am a fan

1st season was excellent, 2nd took a bit of time to get the storyline rolling and the 3rd seems pretty good so far.

If you want an awesome show, check out Breaking Bad.

I'm reading book 8 in this series now (pretty likely that I'll have read all ten in the space of three weeks - addict!!!). But I'm a bit hesitant to try the show because I'm scared I'll hate it. Anyone read the books and watched the show????

Kal's read the book several times and also watches (and loves) the show. Twisted Evil
She recommends finishing the books first, but reckons you will enjoy the show as well!!

I read some of the books but fell off 'em - no particular reason, just didn't read the later ones.

Thankyou Mr Harley. I thought it was you and Kal who recommended these books but couldn't remember. I'll take Kal's advice and finish the books and then try the show. Ohhhh I hope I like it as much as Kal! Im always scared to watch a tv or movie adaption of a book I really enjoy.

I'm six episodes in but am struggling with it. I find Bill really unattractive and I can't see how the script differences have made the show better than the books. I will persevere and hope it gets more enjoyable for me.
