Optus

Post  wottagunn on Mon Jun 14, 2010 10:59 pm

Is anybody here with Optus for their mobile?
I got a new phone about two weeks ago and set up internet billing at the same time. I am trying to figure the stupid fucking website. There is so much conflicting information.

How can I tell if I need to pay a bill?
Will they notify me?

When I go to the bills section of my account on the site, my last five or so bills are listed, and each amount is stated as "outstanding", meaning that I need to pay them. Thing is I already did when they were sent to me on paper prior to getting my new phone.

The website is really confusing me, so I need help.

Can anybody shed light on paying bills online with Optus?

My mum can even pay bills online with optus and she struggles to delete or move files on the computer.

Anyway, I don't really know.

Hey Gunn. I work for an Optus franchise.

The website is shit, agreed.

When you've set up online billing, you can either have your bills direct debit or you can view bills and pay them via Internet banking or print the bill and take it into a local dealer or post shop to pay. The system is designed to email you when your bill is available to view or pay. Also with online billing, you can set SMS alerts to let you know when you've hit 80% of your call usage etc. Once you can get past the difficulty of the website it is quite an invaluable feature. Also you waive the $2.20 bill processing fee getting your bills online as opposed to receiving the bill in the mail. Hope this helps Smile

Cheers for the info.

I payed my current bill via the site. The amount has been withdrawn from my bank account, but according to that damned website the bill still has to be paid. There is, though, a note saying that it may take upto 48 hours for the bill to be updated on the site, so I guess ill just wait 48 hours and see what it says then.
