System Restore
and
Try another HDD
...

Im pretty sure i have something wrong with my HDD to... Its and Odd fault where i cant play any new games from CD but my games i previously installed before the fault started happening works...

Its like something goes wrong with the installation....

Anyway, im formatting my ps3 now. On the format screen it told me that it will take approximately 18.5 hours. That can't be right?!

I've done it once before, took 6 hours which is ridiculous.
Considering you have far more data. probably.

Gunn, any update on this? Did format fix the prob?

Update.

Well, after 20 hours wasted I find that the formatted hard drive and system restore did absolutely nothing. Did not change a thing.
I then put a new hard drive in it, and that didn't even work.

I tried all options in the Safe Mode menu too, and all failed.


After a call to Sony (who were very helpful), they kindly apologized for the problems and told me that a new system will be heading my way in 5 days.

I may have lost all my data again (3 times now), but at least im getting a working PS3.

Do you have to send the old slim back?
Also, did they deactivate the accounts for you?

haha It took me 4 times before I got a PS3 that worked for longer than a week.

PS3 always reminds me of Final Destination. No matter which path you take, you can't skip it's faults, it is inevitable for it to fail.
