PS3 playing multi-region dvds?
Eventually when I return from the UK I was planning on bringing my UK PS3 with me to give to my parents. However, they cant play dvd's and blu-rays that aren't region 4 or 0 correct?

Correct.
edit: the blu rays they can play, the dvd's they can not.
Now you, ive been meaning to ask, can I chuck an aussie appliance into a UK adapter and put that into a power point over there? Or does the voltage need to be converted too? is it just 230V over there?

Yes its 230v over here so you wont need to convert (like you would if you went to USA) it, you will just need a power adaptor (different electrical outlets). If you have a few electrical appliances maybe bring a power board and you only need to buy one adaptor. You will be fine in Germany as well.

I forgot, Europe's electrical outlets are different to the UK, so you also have to buy a electrical adapter for Europe as well.

So no power conversion is needed? just the physical outlet shape?

That's correct - No power conversion, just the physical outlet shape.
That thing looks pretty good, Im sure it will do fine. You can also buy them in airports and chemists if it breaks.
