Re: Anyone ever been in Japan?
Went in 97, my mum was living in takamatsu on the second island shikoku.
A bit off the beaten track, not so many tourists.Had a good look round Osaka, Shikoku and got a shinkansen (bullet train) to hiroshima then ferry back over to Shikoku and trained it round the rest of the island.
It was awesome..
Heaps of good shit to see, shrines, gardens.
Go on a bullet train, go to a video game parlor (that was an eye opener), and if you can, try and get to Hiroshima and have a look, you walk out the Atomic bomb museum with a bit of a lump in your throat. Amazing seeing the destruction and what the city is like now after 65 years. I could still produce children after visiting, but it may explain a thing or two about why Hendo is like he is!! lol.
transport is good, accommodation expensive, so are beers in pubs but going out was fun and the people are friendly and will try to talk with you/ help you, (DONT FORGET where you left your bike!) can get pretty much anything from vending machines... from beers to used undies!!!
You'll love it.
I would like to go back again
