Wireless network help

Post  capnwpac on Sat Jul 17, 2010 6:59 pm

Does anyone know if wireless g can handle adsl2+ speeds?

Or will I need to upgrade to n?

No idea. Check the box if you still have it.

N mainly just has a further range/stronger connection.

Easily, wireless g runs at 54mbps (6.75 MB/s).
Your adsl2+ is likely to be 6 -> 18mbps (0.75 MB/s -> 2.25 MB/s).

n only helps if you stream stuff over your LAN (ie. copy files between home computers, watch movies on ps3 from computer, etc).
It runs at 150/300mbps.

When the NBN reaches your area you will be in trouble though.

True, but unlikely.
If they don't do it now, they will soon.

If the libs get into power they will scrap the NBN.
Faster nation wide internet is a certainty eventually, but it will be under a different name and plan.
